California State Requirements
​
To obtain a pharmacy tech license in California, the State Board has issued their
own requirements for candidates to meet. These include:

Candidates must be 18-years or older.

You must have earned a high school diploma or GED.

You must have a valid social security number (SSN) or Individual Tax ID #.

Applicants must undergo a thorough criminal background check – including fingerprint checks (as verified through LiveScan).

You must pay the mandatory application fee of $195.00.

PTCB certification is required and candidates must sign a notarized copy and submit it with their application.

A passport photo (2 x 2 inch - taken within 60-days of mailing) must be included in your pharmacy tech application (page 1 of the application form).

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified: Submit a copy of your PTCB certificate.
